As a result, we’re hoping to only see Public games where the host intends for strangers to join the fun!
THE ESCAPISTS VENTS HOW TO
This includes a clear description of the various online modes (Local, Private or Public), making it easier to understand exactly how to set up a game for just yourself and your friends. We’ve improved the user interface to help make it easier to understand exactly how to play both local and online co-op the way you want to. These items can now spawn in multiple locations at the same time, making it a lot easier to pull off that sweet, sweet escape!
THE ESCAPISTS VENTS UPDATE
If you’ve had troubles finding the items needed for your various escapes, you’ll be pleased to know that this update increases spawn rates for key quest items considerably. If you’re unfamiliar with the benefits of using the prison’s payphones, Robinson will also make sure you’re in the know!īeyond adding Robinson, we’ve also added a bunch of “signposts” in the prisons, where fellow inmates have dropped hints in various locations that could help pinpoint the best places to attempt your escapes from. These new quests will teach you the very basics of perimeter escapes, including how to dig your way to freedom. Robinson will now appear in the game with a red exclamation mark above his head, which indicates that he has very special quests available for you. Wondering how exactly to start your career as an escapists? We’ve added Robinson to Center Perks 2.0, who’s the 2nd most knowledgeable escapist in the world – just behind Jimmy Locke, of course. This should allow you to try your daring escapes without risk of losing everything! Save settings can be toggled in the Help & Options menu.
THE ESCAPISTS VENTS MANUAL
With manual saves, you simply walk over to your own bed to be prompted to save your game. You can now toggle manual saves, if you want more control over when exactly the game saves. Player feedback has always been very important to us, and we do hope these changes make the game even better for everyone! These improvements are based on player feedback, collected from both the Steam forums, surveys and social media. Any player seen within these vents will be sent to solitary.Today we’re excited to announce the Inmate Induction update on Steam, adding several new features and improvements to The Escapists 2 to improve the experience for new and existing players alike. If a guard sees that the vent cover is missing or damaged, you are very likely to be sent to solitary (in Escapists 2 this will raise the Security Level by 3 stars). One should use caution and enter vents through discreet areas. The vents are also a useful place to store contraband since guards will not search the vents normally. In vents, you can sometimes find Prisoner Stashes of important items left by escapees ( The Escapists only). If your destination room does not contain a desk or a ladder, remember to take another Stepladder/Makeshift Ladder so you can get back into the vents. Once you are in the vent system, you can unscrew another Vent Cover and get to your desired destination. If the guards see what you've done, they will send you to solitary (in The Escapists 2 it will raise the Security Level by 3 stars). Make sure to replace the Vent Cover you tampered with. When you're done, press the interact key to go into the vent system. Use a screwdriver to unscrew the Vent Cover (or use cutters to cut the vent). In The Escapists 2, there are also Vent Covers in the floor which you can use as an entrance.

In order to get in the vents, find a vent entrance above you and get up on a desk or a Stepladder (TE1 only) / Makeshift Ladder (TE2 only). In The Escapists 2, some vents have Fences in them, so make sure you bring cutters if needed. Sometimes, vents will lead you up floors, thus, allowing you to access the roof via the vents. Many escape routes require you to use the vent system (i.e., K.A.P.O.W. Transporting yourself through the vents is simple since it requires minimal equipment (only one Screwdriver for the least), and it can repeatedly be done in a jiffy. These layers usually show up between floors. The Ventilation system is a set of pathways in the 'vent' layer that lead you from one room to another.
